Pasco County Hurricane Expo

Pasco County, Florida -- Get ready for hurricane season by going to the Pasco County's 19th Annual Hurricane Expo.

The event will be hosted by the Pasco County Office of Emergency Management and will include emergency preparedness, games, scavenger hunts and prize give aways. 

It will be held on Saturday, June 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the J. Ben Harrill Recreation Complex located at 2830 Gulf Trace Boulevard.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Tropical Storm Debby survivors have only days left to register for federal disaster assistance. Applications must be received by Tuesday, Sept. 4, to be considered for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Survivors who had storm-related damage to their home, vehicle, personal property, business or its inventory between June 23 and July 26 can register for assistance.

New Port Richey, Florida-- Pasco County began assisting residents who stayed overnight at the Fasano Regional Hurricane Shelter back to their residences. 

The county encourages residents to continue being cautious, despite the National Weather Service's removal of tropical storm warnings for Pasco.

DRC closes Saturday, outreach center opens in its place

New Port Richey, Florida -- Pasco County has announced the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC), located at 4444 Grand Avenue, that was set up to help residents affected by Tropical Storm Debby is scheduled to close operations Saturday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m.

The county says the DRC has met with 602 individuals and households since opening.

Tampa Bay, Florida -- Tropical Storm Debby disaster recovery centers in three Bay area counties will close on Sundays beginning Aug. 5.

Full service will continue Monday - Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the following centers:

SBA to host a presentation for small businesses affected by Tropical Storm Debby

Pasco County, Florida -- The U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will host a free presentation on disaster assistance for businesses in Pasco County on Wednesday, Aug. 1, and Tuesday, Aug. 2.

The event will be held from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Career Central in New Port Richey, located at 4440 Grand Avenue at the corner of Grand Boulevard and Trouble Creek Road.

Tampa Bay -- FEMA released the following updates for counties affected by Tropical Storm Debby.

A FEMA/State Disaster Recovery Center is now open in Hillsborough County to help those survivors whose homes and/or businesses were affected by Tropical Storm Debby.
