Nature Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival

Make plans to celebrate the rush of migrating wings north along the Atlantic Flyway over inland Pasco, Citrus, and Hernando counties during the inaugural Nature Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival.

Formerly known as the Chinsegut Birding and Wildlife Festival, the weekend of March 22-24 will feature a variety of programs, activities and tours at several preserves in the tri-county area, including Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail sites Crews Lake Park, Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park on the Pithlachascotee River, Fort Cooper State Park and the Withlacoochee State Forest.

Dade City, Florida -- If swimming with tigers or playing with a Vervet Monkey is on your bucket list, you'd better hurry! Dade City Wild Things annual "Swim with a Tiger or Gator" event is getting ready to come to an end for the season.

For $200 you can swim and play with the zoo's cub for 30 minutes and get photos taken of your encounter.

Swimming encounters can be scheduled Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday afternoon during regular zoo hours.

Dade City Wild Things to hold summer camp

Dade City, Florida -- It's camp time again at Dade City's Wild Things. This year's camp will be on July 17, 18 and 19 for the three day session and on July 18 for the one-day session.

At camp, the opportunity exists to learn about nature, science and the animal kingdom while hiking through the zoo, exploring behind the scenes and interacting with our ambassador animals. Adventure camps include animal encounters, keeper talks, educational shows, games, crafts and more.

Dade City's Wild Things welcome new monkey

Dade City, Florida -- Dade City's Wild Things is monkeying around again! This time, with newcomer Baxter.

Wild Things says Baxter is a vervet monkey and, despite being only a few months old, he is available for a personal encounter with guests. Guests can book time with Baxter with any tour during the zoo's regular tour hours, Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Dade City, Florida -- Dade City Wild Things has announced a new member to to their kingdom, a tiger cub born 6 weeks ago!

The park is offering visitors a full encounter schedule with the cubs which you can find out more about on their website. 

They are also holding a new "Swim with a Tiger" event on Saturday, May 19. The cost for the encounter is $200 per person. Participants get 30 minutes with the tiger cub and the price includes a photo CD of your experience.
