Tampa real estate booming; leads state

Tampa, Florida-- The numbers are in, and they are up! More homes were sold last month in the Tampa Bay area than in in the past seven years combined.

According to MLS figures, 3,100 homes were sold in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties last month, a 7 percent increase compared to the same month in 2012.

Home sales prices also increased, up 22 percent over the same time period.

The average home in the Tampa Bay area sold for $150,000.

Local Habitat for Humanity celebrates two new homes for families

Dade City, Florida -- Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco County is asking for the community's help dedicate two homes two two families just before Christmas.

The community is invited to come out and celebrate the two Home Dedication Celebrations in Dade City and Zephyrhills. There will be a quick ceremony at each location, followed by refreshments and a home tour.

Pasco learns how to collect

Land O' Lakes, Florida -- Attorney Steve Mezer of Bush|Ross in Tampa will help Pasco County communities learn how to collect fines and liens imposed upon landowners when he addresses the Thursday, Nov. 8, meeting of the Pasco Alliance of Community Associations (PACA).

The public meeting begins Thursday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Land O' Lakes Community Center, located at 5401 Land O' Lakes Blvd. (US 41), three miles north of SR 54.

Pasco County, Florida -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced Thursday that Pasco County will receive $300,000 to conduct grassroots efforts to revitalize the public housing at Cypress Villas II and transform the Lacoochee-Trilby neighborhood.
