There's a new sheriff in town | People
Governor Rick Scott has announced the appointment of Maj. Chris Nocco to replace retiring Pasco County Sheriff Bob White, effective May 1, 2011.
White is retiring to spend more time with family, and Nocco will be filling in until at least January 7, 2013, when White's term will end and the winner of the 2012 election will take over.
Nocco, 35, of Odessa, is a major with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and previously served as chief of staff at Florida Highway Patrol.
