Suspicious package left behind during bank robbery
News

Zephyrhills, Florida -- The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is still searching for the man who robbed a Zephyrhills bank and left behind a suspicious package Tuesday morning.

Authorities say around 10 a.m., the Hispanic man carried a small bag into the Sunshine State Bank on Eiland Boulevard, told the teller it was an explosive device and demanded money. The man then fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash and left the bag behind.

The bank was evacuated and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad cleared the bag as an explosive device.

The man is described as being in his mid-40's, 5'6" tall, and between 160 and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing jeans and a black hat and running west from the bank on foot.

Anyone with any information about the man is asked to call the Pasco County Sheriff's Office at 727-844-7711.
