DADE CITY, Fla. -- The Pasco County Housing Authority, which has been the target of several 10 News Investigators stories, has more problems.
On Wednesday, the new board couldn't meet because it didn't have a quorum. The old board was replaced and the executive director resigned after massive problems came to light, including allegations the former director was having sex on the job with employees, was padding overtime, and was wasting taxpayer money.

Now 10 News has learned the board hired Michael Patrick McBride in the finance department. McBride has been arrested twice for DUI and has a state and federal tax lien from his former catering business.
Board Chair David Lambert says he wasn't aware of the problems, but the agency always does a background check on new employees. The background check found the DUI arrests, but not the tax liens.
In addition, the interim executive director and the board CPA who hired McBridge never told the board about the problems.
Lambert says McBride told him he is trying to clear up the lien problems and he will not be handling money until he can be bonded.
According to Lambert, McBridge comes from a fine family that he and everyone in Pasco County knows.
