Creators Sam Abbitt and Lloyd Parker say they designed the race to be the experience of a lifetime.
"We feature some of the biggest and most challenging obstacles in the business, and we never need more than 6 miles to get the job done," said Abbitt in a release. "At Savage Race, you spend more time on our awesome obstacles and less time jogging."
Obstacles include the Shriveled Richard ice bath, the Colon Blow 5000 blackout pipe crawl, leaps over real bonfires, giant cargo nets, deep mud pits and a twisted version of monkey bars created just for adults called the Evil Bars.
The cost to participate starts at $69, but increases as the event date approaches. The entry fee includes a Savage T-shirt, a finisher medal, a free beer, and admission to the Savage Festival with live entertainment. Spectators can enter the event online for $10.
The Little Everglades Ranch has hosted numerous equine and running events over the past 13 years including the Little Everglades Steeplechase, the Pre State High School Cross Country Invitational and the State High School Cross Country Finals and Tough Mudder.
