Dade City, Florida -- Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco is inviting area golfers and businesses to support the 2012 Pasco Sheriff's Golf Classic at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City.

The tournament supports Pasco youth charities each year and this year the charity event will focus their efforts on helping the Pasco Police Athletic League (PPAL).

The PPAL supports Pasco youth in both cheerleading and football in many Pasco communities including Zephryhills, Trinity, New Port Richey, Land O' Lakes, Dade City, Hudson, Zephyrhills and Wesley Chapel. Currently, more than 1,200 kids ages five to fifteen participate in PPAL.

Anyone who would like more information about PPAL can contact them at www.PascoPAL.org or email at Sheriffppal@pascosheriff.org.

The shotgun start for the best-ball tournament will be at 9 a.m., Monday, Oct. 22, utilizing the beautiful south course of Lake Jovita. Golf registration is $150 per person or $600 per foursome. Included in the price will be continental breakfast, 18-holes of golf, followed by a catered, sit-down luncheon in Lake Jovita's fine dining area.

Participants are urged to register early, as space is limited. Golfers can register and pay online via PayPal at www.PascoSheriff.com, or by printing out a form and sending in their payment. Look under the "Sheriff Chris Nocco" drop-down link and click on 2012 Sheriff's Golf Classic.

Check-in on the day of the tournament will start at 7:30 a.m. at the Lake Jovita clubhouse. Awards will be given out to first, second and third place teams, as well as thousands of dollars worth of prize drawings. Some of the prizes include golf equipment, vacation giveaways and certificates to many of the region's golf courses.

Registration deadline for the tournament is Oct. 15. For more information about the tournament, please call the Pasco Sheriff's Office at 1-800-854-2862, ext. 7733.
