'It Starts In Parks Tampa Bay' Clean Up Day | Community Spirit

Pasco County, Florida -- Many of the City and County Parks and Recreation systems in the Tampa Bay area have been working together to designate Thursday, July 26 as a Parks Clean Up Day in Tampa Bay. This is in conjunction with Florida’s designation of July as Parks and Recreation Month.
The Pasco County Parks and Recreation Department invites individuals, groups and organizations to make this day, a day to visit their local parks and “make a difference” by working side by side with parks and recreation professionals on various tasks. To adopt a project call Parks and Recreation at 727-834-3278.
Here is a list of tasks the public is being asked to help to the County complete in various Pasco Parks:
Robert Strickland Memorial Park (AKA Hudson Beach) – Rake and clean up sand areas; weed, trim and clean up plant beds.
Robert Rees Memorial Park (AKA Green Key) – Rake and clean up sand areas; weed, trim and cleanup plant beds; rebuild and paint picnic tables and trim palm trees.
Anclote River Park – Paint entrance wall.
Anclote Gulf Park – Weed, trim and clean up plant beds.
Key Vista Park – Clean up and trim brush along trails and walking paths, cleanup debris along the coast.
Mitchell Park – Replace/install chain link fencing on sports fields.
Veterans Memorial Park – Weed and clean up plant and flower beds.
Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park – Trim back vegetation along roadways and trails; mulch around shelters, pavilions and walkways
John S. Burks Memorial Park – Paint picnic tables, mulch parking area islands, trim trees.
Crews Lake Park – Seal/paint observation tower, sand & paint playground equipment.
Arthur F. Engle Memorial Park – Sand and paint baseball concession building stairs, sand and paint playground equipment.
Lake Lisa Park – Edge and trim vegetation along trail, sand & paint playground equipment, clear exotic plants and brush around lake.
Land O’ Lakes Recreation Complex – Install chain link fencing on sports fields, sand and paint picnic tables, paint restrooms for sports programs, trim trees.
Sam Pasco Recreation Complex - Paint car stops, paint picnic tables, install chain link fencing on sports fields, pressure wash concrete surfaces.
Shady Hills Community Center – Sand and paint playground equipment
Suncoast Trail – Edge and trim vegetation away from trail
Wesley Chapel District Park - Paint picnic tables, weed and cleanup plant beds.
Withlacoochee River Park – Water seal dock and canoe launch, and the cracker house, church and trading post buildings.
