Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo and the Florida Aquarium are offering free admission for moms on both Saturday and Sunday, May 11 and 12, with the purchase of a full paid admission ticket.

Come see the Southern Region In-Line Speed Skating Championships

Pasco County, Florida -- The City of New Port Richey is welcoming back the Southern Region In-Line Speed Skating Championships. 

The two day event will take place at the Spinnations Skating Center on Congress Street on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19. 

Close to 200 speed skaters will compete in over 180 races over the weekend. Relays and metered races for all the divisions from Tiny Tot through to the Grand Veterans will compete on Saturday and on Sunday the Novice Division will skate. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. on both days.

Pasco County, Florida -- Pasco County Animal Services will be hosting free adoptions for all Mothers from May 8th through May 18th.  Adoptable dogs and cats will be FREE to moms in celebration of Mother’s Day. There will be a $10 fee for a Pasco County dog license. 

Inmate charged with killing another inmate

ZEPHYRHILLS, Florida (AP) - A Pinellas County man serving life in prison for shooting his wife to death in 2006 has been charged with killing a fellow inmate last year at the Zephyrhills Correctional Institution.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that 34-year-old Eric G. Davis was charged with beating 54-year-old Joe Hayes at the state prison.

Davis is charged with non-premeditated homicide.

Rock The Park comes to Pasco County

Rock The Park comes to Pasco County

Pasco County, Florida -- The 3rd annual Rock the Park concert benefit is coming up this may. 

The concert will bring an infusion of new rock music and Tampa's award winning food trucks, as well as a silent auction hosted by 102.5 The Bone. 

The concert will benefit the Center for Independence, Inc. which provides a wide variety of services to the developmentally disable community and their families. 

Rock the Park is free and open to the public and will be held at Sims Park Amphitheater, 6341 Bank Street, New Port Richey.

Pasco County hovernment hosts community meetings

Pasco County, Florida -- The Pasco County Board of County Commissioners will host three community meetings to discuss several topics including the 2013-2017 Strategic Plan, FY 2013-14 Budget, Penny for Pasco, road maintenance needs, and the upcoming National Citizen Survey (NCS) to be conducted May 3 - June 14.  The Board of County Commissioners will use the opinions and ideas shared during these meetings and from surveys to assist with upcoming budget decisions.
