Man doused in drain cleaner during fight

Zephyrhills, Florida -- A fight between two people resulted in one being doused in drain cleaner and the other taken to jail Friday afternoon.

Pasco Sheriff's deputies say 34-year-old Lawanda Jenkins and the man who they share two children with were arguing. At some point during the argument, Jenkins doused him on his back and lower legs with drain cleaner which contains sulfuric acid.

Deputies reported the man suffered from spotting consistent with acid burn on his left lower leg due to the acid burning holes through the back of his shorts.

17-year-old charged in deadly shooting

Dade City, Florida -- A 17-year-old boy is facing the very serious charge of premeditated first degree murder after police say he shot and killed a man outside his home Saturday night.

Pasco Sheriff deputies say Adan Diaz, Jr. walked up to the 32-year-old unidentified man who was sitting in the passenger seat of his sister's car parked in the driveway of the home in the 40200 block of River Road and shot him multiple times.

Man shoots another twice in the head during dispute

Dade City, Florida -- A 28-year-old Dade City man has been arrested for the attempted murder of another man Sunday evening.

Witnesses told Pasco Sheriff's deputies Carlos Perez and the 24-year-old man were inside a vacant home in the 14900 block of Dade Street when Perez shot the man twice in the head.

Immediately after the shooting, the two witnesses with them at the time struggled with Perez over the gun and were able to get it away from him. He then fled the scene and later arrested by Dade City Police officers.

Pasco County, Florida -- The Pasco County Parks and Recreation Department will be temporarily closing the boardwalk/fishing pier at Anclote Gulf Park temporarily. 

The closure is due to construction that will begin on Monday, May 13. 

The park will be closed daily at dusk until the repairs have been completed.

Pasco County, Florida - Pasco County Animal Services will be hosting free adoptions for all Mothers through May 18. Adoptable dogs and cats will be FREE to moms in celebration of Mother's Day. 

This is a great deal because the regular adoption fees are $70 for dogs and $40 for cats.

There will be a $10 fee for a Pasco County dog license.

PCAS will feature adoptable dogs at the Pasco County Home Show at the Verizon Center in New Port Richey on Friday, 5/10/2013 from 11:30 am -1:00 pm. 

Teen charged with murder in Dade City shooting

DADE CITY, Fla. -- A 17-year-old boy has been charged with first degree murder after Pasco County detectives say he shot and killed his sister's boyfriend as the couple sat in a car on Friday night.

Adan David Diaz Jr. is accused of shooting 32-year-old Juan Quesada-Acuna in Diaz's yard at 40214 River Road.

Neighbors say they heard three gunshots just after 10 p.m. on Friday, followed by the sirens of several police cars speeding by their homes.

Pasco County, Florida -- Come test out your baseball skills at Veterans Memorial Park!

Pasco County Parks and Recreation and Veterans Memorial Park will host Pitch, Hit & Run. 

Pitch, Hit & Run is a competition where participants get to try out different aspects of baseball. Competitors ages 7 to 14 get to pitch from a designated target, hit from a stationary batting tee for distance and accuracy, and run from second base to home plate for time.
