Helping kids in Tampa Bay have a great Christmas couldn't be simpler.

On Saturday, December 3rd, leave a new, unwrapped toy (or leave several toys!) next to your mailbox.

Letter carriers in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco, Hernando, and Manatee counties will collect the toys and hand them over to Toys for Tots.

Land O'Lakes, FL -- If you are tired of looking at your neighbor's abandoned overgrown lawn or even concerned about a possible foreclosure that isn't being reported, the county has arranged a place online to report it.

A lot of community residents are concerned about neighborhood safety because these abandoned homes maybe breeding grounds for criminal activity. Moreover, they can be an eyesore to those of us who try to keep our neighborhoods "tidy".

My volunteer vacation

My volunteer vacation

By Joanne Shuttleworth, Guelph Mercury reporter and Habitat for Humanity volunteer
This summer, I took off eight consecutive Wednesdays and spent those days at 439 York Road here in Guelph, Ontario, building a home through Habitat Wellington County’s Women Build. While I can’t say building a house is as relaxing as floating on a lake, it’s been rejuvenating nonetheless.

Drive Smart for a Cause

Drive Smart for a Cause

Jarrett Ford & Lincoln and Rotary Club of Dade City are generously hosting a "Drive Smart for a Cause" event, Dec 2. If you test drive a car and fill out a comment card, Habitat will earn a $20 donation! Just make sure you write in Habitat for Humanity of East & Central Pasco as the charity of your choice on your comment card.

We are asking everyone to come out, take a free test drive, and support our cause! No pressure from a salesman, no cost, just a fun ride. Everyone deserves a decent place to live! This is an easy way to make a difference.
