Florida Lottery prepares for $590M Powerball winner

Tallahassee, Florida - The world is still waiting to hear who bought that winning $590 million Powerball ticket in Zephyrhills last Saturday.

The winner is required under Florida law to redeem the ticket at Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. Lottery Secretary Cynthia O'Connell says the agency is prepared to help the person through the claims process.

When the winner walks into Lottery headquarters, he or she will be greeted at the Customer Service counter.

On Saturday, June 22, at 10 a.m. the riders drive throughout Pasco County collecting cards. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Gulfside’s New Port Richey Thrift Shoppe located at 6117 State Road 54 in New Port Richey. 

Strong storms knock trees onto houses

Storms continue to push south across , Polk, Highlands, Hardee, Desoto and Sarasota counties.

There have been numerous reports of hail stemming from these storms, and 10 News has learned of trees falling on houses in Seffner and in Zephyrhills. There's no word on any injuries at this time.
